Commissions FAQ

How does the commission process work?

Commissioning a painting is a collaborative experience. We'll begin with a conversation about your subject, vision, and any reference imagery. From there, I translate that story into an original oil painting created with care, texture, and intention.

How long does a commissioned painting take?

Most commissions take 6–8 weeks to complete. This timeline allows the painting to develop naturally, including proper drying time between layers.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is based on the size of the painting and the complexity of the subject matter. Once details are confirmed, you'll receive a clear quote before the commission begins.

When is payment due?

Full payment is due upfront to secure your place on my studio calendar. This ensures dedicated time and focus for your piece.

What subjects do you accept for commissions?

I accept a limited number of commissions each year and typically work with still life, food, objects, and select personal subjects that align with my artistic style. If you're unsure whether your idea is a good fit, I'm happy to discuss it.

Will I see progress or previews along the way?

I may share a brief progress update during the process, but I prefer to allow the painting to evolve organically rather than through multiple revisions.

Do you offer revisions?

Because each painting is created in my personal style, revisions are limited. My goal is to deliver a finished piece that feels cohesive, intentional, and true to the original vision we discussed.

Do you ship commissioned work?

Yes. Finished paintings can be shipped securely within the United States and internationally. Shipping costs are calculated separately.

How do I inquire about a commission?

Use the contact form or email me directly with your idea, preferred size, and timeline. I'll be in touch to discuss availability and next steps.

We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials.
