There’s something almost intimate about a fig once it’s been opened. It doesn’t hold anything back. No clean edges. No perfect symmetry. Just layers—soft, seeded, and exposed in a way that feels both vulnerable and unapologetically rich.
This painting leans into that moment.
The deep violets and inky blues wrap around the fruit like a quiet mystery, while the inside bursts open in warm, fleshy reds and pinks—alive, textured, and a little wild. The brushwork is loose on purpose. You can feel where I let go, where I stopped trying to control it and just let the paint move the way it wanted to. That’s where the magic showed up.
There’s contrast here—cool against warm, structure against softness, restraint against release. And maybe that’s what drew me to figs in the first place. They don’t pretend to be simple. They’re layered, a little messy, and incredibly beautiful because of it.
This piece feels like a quiet reminder that there’s beauty in being seen as you are—cracked open, a little imperfect, but still full of depth and sweetness.
Painted in oil on canvas, this work carries rich texture and visible brushstrokes that shift and catch light differently throughout the day, making it feel alive in your space.
Perfect for a kitchen, dining area, or anywhere you want a piece that feels both grounded and expressive—something that invites people to pause, lean in, and look a little closer.
